ABOUT ME

Nora Elbe

My name is Nora Elbe, psychologist and psychotherapist (registered with
the Veneto Order of Psychologists under no. 8359)
with a master’s degree in
Clinical Psychology, obtained in 2011 at the University of Padua. Being a
psychologist was my dream since I was a child.

I liked listening to people, entering their inner world, feeling their emotions,
hearing their stories, what they had to tell, and sharing their experiences.
Graduating with a degree in clinical psychology and a master’s degree,
completing a one-year professional traineeship required to practice the
profession, sitting for the state exam, and being admitted to the professional
register led me to fulfil my dream. It was not a point of arrival, however, but the
start of a new journey.

Attività

Constant research

The human psyche and life are very complex and profound and my curiosity in this field did not stop after graduation.
I therefore decided to deepen my knowledge, taking a four-year course at a school of psychotherapy, under continuous supervision. This enabled me to obtain the title of psychotherapist and to consolidate my skills, enabling me to support the people who come to me on deeper paths of discovery and exploration.

Constructing/Re-constructing

There are different schools of psychotherapy; my approach is based on George Kelly’s Personal Construct Psychotherapy. I believe that freedom and independence are very important but not always easy aspects to achieve in one’s life. One of the aims of Personal Construct Psychotherapy is to make us feel free to be, to move, to experiment, and then to continue our journey independently.

According to Kelly, the human being is constantly moving and changing, making assumptions and testing them as a scientist would.

The therapy room thus becomes a protected environment in which we make our hypotheses and then test them in everyday life.

We are the architects of our own future: even if we have gone through difficult experiences, we can choose to look at and explore new horizons. There is always a new possibility, new ways forward, to be discovered together with the therapist. The therapist knows the path and will help us draw a map and check step-by-step whether there might be better paths.
